台湾のヨシから記載された。日本では本州、琉球列島、伊豆諸島、小笠原諸島の主にススキから記録されている。頭部と腹部は褐色で、胸部は通常頭部及び腹部より淡く黄褐色～淡褐色。前翅は基部を除き褐色。

This species was described from Phragmites communis in Taiwan. In Japan, it has been recorded from mainly Miscanthus sinensis of Honshu, the Ryukyus, Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands so far. The thorax is usually paler than head and abdomen, yellowish brown to pale brown. The fore wings are brown except bases.
